A frontend engineer
with a long-term thesis.
I'm Samuel — a Senior Frontend Engineer based in the Netherlands. I build for the web, love what React Native is becoming, and treat every interface as a small piece of writing.
Crafting interfaces that
feel inevitable.
For over a decade I've shipped products in React, TypeScript and the half-dozen tools that orbit them. The titles changed — engineer, lead, senior — but the obsession didn't: how a screen feels when you reach for it, how typography breathes at every breakpoint, how a click can feel like a decision instead of a step.
React Native pulled me back into the mobile world. There's something honest about a phone in the hand — no clever pointer states, no excuses. Just motion, weight, and intent.
Good software, like good tailoring, hides its seams. The user shouldn't notice the work — only feel that they're in capable hands.
More than a developer.
Outside the editor I travel — slowly, when I can. I read across genres (high fantasy on Sundays, Buffett's letters on Mondays). I treat investing as a long game and the gym as my daily reset. The thread that ties it all together is the same thing I look for in code: a pursuit of compounding returns.
The four pillars that keep me sharp.
Travel
Explorer of the world — from canal cities to mountain villages, I collect places the way some collect books.
Investing
Equities, FIIs, ETFs and Fixed Income — patiently building my own path to financial freedom.
Reading
From fantasy to finance — always learning, always taking notes in the margins.
Fitness
The gym is my daily reset — discipline that quietly underwrites everything else.
The means is patience, code, and compounding.

If the work, experience, and values line up with what you are building, the contact page is the cleanest next move.
